Tiny dancers, big dreams! TinyStars Ballet & Tap is a joyful introduction to the world of dance, combining the elegance of ballet with the rhythm and fun of tap. In this high-energy, age-appropriate class, young dancers will learn basic ballet positions and movements, along with fundamental tap steps—all while building coordination, musicality, and confidence. MUSICAL THEATRE

POINTE

Pointe Class is designed for ballet students ages 11 and up who have a strong foundation in ballet technique. This class may be taken in flat or pointe shoes, depending on the student’s readiness as determined by the instructor. Students will continue to develop their ballet technique while safely transitioning to or refining their work en pointe. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations, with a strong emphasis on proper alignment, control, and strengthening of the feet and ankles. To ensure safety and progress, students must have instructor approval to participate and must also be enrolled in an additional ballet technique class. Properly fitted pointe shoes and consistent attendance are essential. Dancers will focus on injury prevention and correct technique rather than rushing progression. Students in Pointe Class may also be eligible to perform in the Spring Showcase, based on their readiness and instructor recommendation.

Throughout the year, dancers will explore famous routines while gaining an appreciation for the groundbreaking choreographers who shaped Broadway—from Bob Fosse to Jerome Robbins and beyond.

In addition to building strong dance technique and performance skills, this class encourages collaboration, peer interaction, and a deepened confidence both on and off the stage. 

The year will culminate in a special performance of selected iconic numbers as part of our end-of-year ShowCase—a celebration of everything students have learned and achieved.

At the heart of StarStruck’s programming is our premier MainStage musical theatre production class: ShootingStars & ShiningStars SHOW. This exciting class combines middle and high school performers in a fully-staged theatrical experience, culminating in five public performances each semester, plus an additional production in June. Featuring big Broadway titles, these shows are professionally directed and choreographed, offering students the thrill of participating in high-caliber, full-scale productions.

Throughout the rehearsal process, students build a wide range of performance and life skills. They engage in script and character analysis, vocal technique, choreography, blocking, and ensemble work—gaining firsthand experience in all aspects of putting on a musical. Along the way, they also learn essential values such as responsibility, time management, teamwork, adaptability, and creative expression. As students watch costumes being sewn, sets being built, and collaborate with directors, choreographers, music directors, and designers, they experience the full collaborative nature of theatre. Participants also explore fundamental acting principles, staging, improvisation, musical terminology, rhythmic training, and vocal performance. This immersive environment cultivates confidence, discipline, leadership, and respect—skills that serve students well both on and off the stage.

Participation in this class includes additional rehearsal commitments outside of regular class time as show dates approach, ensuring students are well-prepared for the excitement and demands of live performance. Private Lessons for all ages

Private Music Training in Piano and/or voice with Peter Jones

Peter Jones offers custom-tailored private lessons designed to fit each student's musical interests and goals. Whether focusing on classical, contemporary, Broadway, jazz, pop, or a mix of genres, Peter brings a personalized approach to every session. Lessons are available in voice, piano, or a combination of both. For students interested in accompanying themselves, instruction can include learning to play piano and sing simultaneously, as well as music theory and chord chart improvisation based on age and skill level.

New students are invited to schedule an interview with Peter to discuss goals, preferences, and how to best create a personalized music plan. Lessons are open to all ages and experience levels and are available in 30 or 60-minute weekly sessions, based on availability.

StarStruck’s private lesson program has produced students who have won local and national awards, earned scholarships to prestigious colleges and universities, and performed publicly in jazz bands and at local venues.

All private lesson students will have the opportunity to perform in an end-of-year Private Lesson Recital, showcasing their growth, progress, and passion for music in a supportive and celebratory environment.

Private Acting Training with Jennifer Yormak
Nationally Recognized Director of Children’s Theatre

Begin your acting journey with personalized one-on-one sessions led by Jennifer Yormak, a nationally recognized director specializing in children’s theatre. Students of all ages explore Scene Study, Acting the Song, and comprehensive audition preparation tailored to their individual needs and goals, including specialized coaching for young actors submitting for TV and movie auditions to build confidence and on-camera skills.

High school seniors preparing for their college BFA Musical Theatre and Acting auditions receive focused training designed to elevate their performance and improve their chances of acceptance. It’s recommended these students schedule an initial meeting during the latter part of their junior year to develop a strategic audition plan.

Her coaching encourages students to lose their inhibitions, develop essential acting techniques, and master the art of listening and reacting authentically on stage. Beyond theatre, Jennifer works with adults preparing for public speaking, media interviews, and professional presentations—helping lawyers, doctors, executives, and other professionals communicate with confidence, clarity, and presence.

Whether you’re starting out, preparing for auditions, or refining your public speaking skills, Jennifer offers expert guidance to help you grow as a performer and communicator.
