Peter has been a music educator and music director for more than 35 years. He has performed in theaters throughout New York and Florida either onstage as a character or accompanying the show behind a piano. Memorable onstage performances include the Emcee in CABARET, Billy Flynn in CHICAGO, Mozart in AMADEUS, Nathan Detroit in GUYS AND DOLLS, Lumierè in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and many others. Peter has produced, provided live orchestral piano accompaniment and music directed well over 100 shows. A few favorites include SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, WEST SIDE STORY, GYPSY, LEGALLY BLONDE, THE WHO'S TOMMY, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, CHESS, MAMMA MIA, COMPANY, SOUND OF MUSIC, INTO THE WOODS, CATS, LES MISERABLÈS, RENT, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and many more. He has also written and adapted several musical comedies for very young actors such as SNOW WHITE AND THE 10 DWARFS and THE LION QUEEN. Peter had the privilege of accompanying the late Broadway legend, John Raitt (OKLAHOMA, CAROUSEL) for Mr. Raitt’s one-man show in Stuart. Peter also collaborated with Broadway composers Stephen Schwartz (MY SON, PINNOCHIO and CHILDREN OF EDEN Junior) and Stephen Sondheim (SWEENEY TODD School Edition) to help create student versions of their musicals. Peter also works in tandem with Music Theatre International to help create many student versions in their musical catalogue including: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Junior, AVENUE Q School Edition, FLAT STANLEY Junior, DR. DOOLITTLE Junior, HAIRSPRAY Junior, RENT School Edition and many others. Peter is the recipient of a “mARTie Award” from the Martin County Arts Council for Outstanding Performing Artist. Peter recieved BEST MUSIC DIRECTION at the Music Theater International Junior Festival in Atlanta. He has been featured in numerous local and national magazines and newspapers for his work as a producer, a performer and as a musical theatre educator. Peter also can be seen and heard as the Emcee for various local charity events such as DANCING WITH THE MARTIN STARS (Healthy Start Coalition) & The MARTIE AWARDS (Martin County Arts Council). During the week, Peter enjoys teaching private lessons in chord chart piano improvisation & theory, advanced piano (classical, pop, rag) vocal coaching and musical theatre audition prep. Peter proudly raised two children who are both successful artists in the entertainment industry currently living in NYC. He is excited to be celebrating 23 years of providing a beacon of musical theatre education for the Treasure Coast and surrounding counties.
