Rebecca Leslie
Associate Artistic Director, Dance Instructor, Choreographer
Rebecca Leslie is a professional director, choreographer and dance/theater instructor, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Rebecca thrives on passing down the knowledge of expression through the performing arts. She has taught at multiple nationally renowned dance studios in the South Florida area as well as StarStruck for 7 years. Most recently Rebecca worked as full time faculty, teaching Dance and Theatre, Choreographing and Directing at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton. Rebecca is thrilled to be returning to the Stuart area and looking forward to rejoining StarStruck and being part of the dedicated Team that works tirelessly to inspire children to reach for the Stars!
Ms. Leslie started her passion of dance at the age of 3, training at Charlotte Klein School of Dance in Massachusetts, continuing on to train with a former Rockette and finally with internationally acclaimed tap dancer and master teacher, Debbi Dee, for over 30 years. Ms. Leslie has studied many dance styles including tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and musical theatre.
A graduate of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Ms. Leslie attended Oklahoma City University as a Dance Performance Major and was a member of the American Spirit Dance Company's Regional Touring Company. She graduated with her AS degree in Culinary Arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage as well as her BA in Arts & Humanities from Florida Atlantic University.
As a dancer, Ms. Leslie has performed in New York, Massachusetts, Tampa, Miami, Ft. Myers, California, Puerto Rico and at Disney World in Orlando, winning several awards and honors including Dancer of the Year Finalist at the 2002 Dance Olympus national competition. Ms. Leslie has participated in various dance conventions including the Big Apple Tap Festival, New York City Dance Alliance, Dance America, the St. Louis Tap Festival and the Renditions and Rhythms tap conference in Chicago.
Ms. Leslie’s choreography has won numerous first place awards, regionally and nationally, and her students have earned many special honors including Best Technical Execution, Best Performance, Most Promising Performer and Overall High Scores. Rebecca has choreographed over 25 musicals for ages 6-75, including equity performers. Some of her favorites include: CATS, A CHORUS LINE, 42nd STREET, CHICAGO & NEWSIES.
